It's been a busy few months of Championship action for Syls, with plenty of highs, a few disappointments and some big games still to come. From our hurlers getting the ball rolling back in July to our ladies and men's footballers joining the action, there's been no shortage of excitement across the club.

With silverware already in the bag and several teams still chasing Championship glory, here's how things are shaping up.

Our adult hurlers got the Championship season underway on 10th July, and there's been plenty to cheer about since.

Our Senior Hurlers have bounced back brilliantly from two opening defeats, picking up two wins and a draw to book their place in the Championship quarter-finals, where they'll face Castleknock next Saturday evening in Somerton at 5pm. A big game for the lads as they look to keep their Championship journey going!

Our seconds enjoyed a cracking group campaign, going unbeaten with four wins and a draw before losing out by the narrowest of margins to St Brendan's in the Championship quarter-final. A heartbreaking one-point defeat brought an otherwise excellent campaign to an end. Our thirds also secured their Championship status for next season.

Our Minor Hurlers joined the action on 6th September. Both teams have had a tough start, with our Minor A side still searching for their first win and our Minor B team picking up a draw in their opening two games. Both now look towards the Shield pathway as they continue their campaigns.

With our Senior Hurlers heading into a big quarter-final next weekend, there's plenty more hurling action to look forward to.

Our ladies got their Championship campaign underway on 29th July, and they've already given us plenty to celebrate!

Our 3rds led the way, bringing home the Shield title with a brilliant one-goal victory over Skerries in the final at the end of August. A fantastic achievement for the team and management, and a great reward for all their hard work.

Our 2nd team also enjoyed a strong Championship run, reaching the semi-finals before losing out to Na Fianna, while our Senior Ladies have been in impressive form, winning three of their four group games to secure their place in the Championship semi-finals. They take on Clontarf this Wednesday evening in St Anne’s Park at 8pm, with a place in the Championship final up for grabs! 

Our Minor Girls got their Championship campaigns underway on 7th September, with all three teams now two games into their respective competitions. Our Minor A team have made a flying start with two wins from two and have booked their place in the Championship semi-finals. Our Minor C team have a Shield knockout semi, while our Minor B team will alos contest a shield semi-final.

With one trophy already in the bag and our Senior Ladies and Minor A Girls both heading into Championship semi-finals, there's plenty more to look forward to from our ladies and girls.

Our men's footballers joined the Championship action on 22nd August, with all five adult teams battling it out across their respective competitions.

Our Senior Men secured their Senior 2 status for next season, while our 2nd team (Inters) have enjoyed an excellent group campaign in All County Junior 1, winning all three games and booking their place in the Championship quarter-finals.

Likewise our 3rd and 4ths have also secured their quarter-final spots in All County Junior 2 and Junior 5 respectively, ensuring 3 men's adult football teams compete in the Championship knockout stages. Meanwhile, our 5th team remain firmly in the qualification mix after picking up 4 points from their opening three games.

Our Minor Footballers got their Championship campaigns underway on 30th August, with four teams representing the club. Our Minor 1st Team (A Champo) side have one win from their opening two games and remain in the qualification mix, while our 2nds (B Champo) and 3rds (F Champo) teams will be looking for a strong finish after difficult starts. Our Minor D (G Champo) team have a draw and a bye from their opening two rounds, leaving their group wide open with plenty still to play for.

With three adult teams heading into Championship quarter-finals and our Minor Footballers still battling for qualification, there's plenty to look forward to in the weeks ahead.
