It was a huge weekend for the club as our U15 Féile teams took centre stage, with the girls in action on Saturday and the boys following on Sunday across a number of divisions.

There were brilliant performances, narrow margins, a final heartbreak and a fantastic Shield win to top it all off, everything Féile is all about.

Girls A Team Show Great Fight in Somerton 🔵🟢
Our U15 Girls A team travelled to Somerton on Saturday for a highly competitive Division 1 Féile group, taking on Clontarf GAA, Castleknock GAA and Ballyboden St. Enda’s.

The girls produced a strong performance across all three games, competing right to the very end in what proved to be an incredibly tight group. With results going down to the finest of margins, qualification ultimately came down to a countback situation.

Despite their efforts, Syls were narrowly edged out by a single point on score difference, a tough outcome after a morning of committed and spirited football.

There was plenty to be proud of though, with the team showing great determination, teamwork and resilience throughout and representing the club brilliantly.

Girls B Team Battled Hard in St. Margaret’s 🔵🟢
Our U15 Girls B team were in action in St. Margaret’s on Saturday in Division 7, facing Lucan Sarsfields, Na Fianna and St. Margaret’s GAA.

It proved to be a tough morning against strong opposition, with the girls competing in all three games and showing great determination throughout.

While results didn’t go their way on this occasion, the performances told a different story, with plenty of effort, teamwork and resilience on display from start to finish.

Girls C Team Host Féile in Broomfield 🔵🟢
Back in Broomfield on Saturday, our U15 Girls C team proudly hosted Division 11 Féile games on the AWP, welcoming Garristown GAA, Naomh Barrog and Erins Isle. It was a challenging group, with three strong visiting teams providing tough opposition across the morning’s games.

Despite the results not falling in their favour, the girls showed great spirit and determination throughout, competing well and embracing the opportunity to represent the club on home soil. There was a brilliant Féile atmosphere around Broomfield, with great support throughout the morning.

Boys B Team Reach Féile Final After Strong Run 🔵🟢
On Sunday, our U15 Boys B team were in action in Broomfield in Division 9, with both their semi final and final played at home, with the final taking place on Pitch 1. Syls got off to a great start in their semi final, overcoming St Monica’s GAA to book their place in the final.

In the decider, they faced St Patrick’s (P), who had come through their own semi final after defeating St Maur’s GAA.

The final proved to be a tight and competitive contest, with Syls giving everything right to the end. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be on the day, as they just came up short against a strong St Patrick’s side.

A brilliant effort from the lads to reach the final and a Féile run they can be very proud of.

Boys C Team Crowned Féile Shield Champions 🔵🟢
Also on Sunday, our U15 Boys C team travelled to Bremore Park for their Division 10 Féile Shield campaign and produced a brilliant day’s work to come away as champions.

Syls opened their day with a strong semi final performance, overcoming Na Dubh Ghall to secure their place in the final.

In the decider, they faced Fingallians GAA, who had progressed after defeating Clontarf GAA.

The lads delivered a superb performance in the final, showing great composure and teamwork to get over the line and claim the Féile Shield title. A fantastic achievement and a well deserved reward for all their hard work.

There will no doubt be great celebrations back at the club this evening, particularly for our Boys C team who bring silverware home to Broomfield. Well done to all players and coaches across every team who represented Syls with such pride over the weekend.

And what better way to finish it all off, a walk through the village led by the piper. Enjoy every second of it 🔵🟢
